Senior Captain Bob Borzych and PGA Head Professional Steve Clay along with eight other members joined 71 players and the Golf Monthly team to help support wounded men and women from the British Armed Services.
Richard's Report is below:
“79 golfers played in the 16th annual Golf Monthly Forum 'Help for Heroes' charity golf day at Blackmoor Golf Club.
Those playing included Neil Tappin, the editor of Golf Monthly, and our very own Steve Clay by personal invitation from the Golf Monthly forum.
Judging by the remarks on the forum, the course was in stunning condition, though not playing easily. This was reflected in the scores, with none of the 79 golfers breaking their handicap. The best being 36 stableford points off full course handicap by a Farnham member. The new renovations to the course over the last three years were also greatly admired.
Players also commented on the superb food served throughout the day, from bacon rolls on arrival to a two-course carvery lunch.
There will be a full write-up, including photos of the day, in an upcoming Golf Monthly magazine, followed by an online write-up on the magazine’s website.
The day should raise in excess of £7,500 for this very deserving charity. This added to previous years' events will take the running total raise to over £185,000”
If anyone would like to be involved in future days, they can check out the Golf Monthly Forum or alternatively contact Richard Hart (Club member), directly. Donations can be made to the charity website set up by Richard at > JUST GIVING
